O say can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hail
While our unborn are screaming,
Whose broad stripes and red scars
(Through the perilous fires
Of our murderous hearts)
On our country are bleeding?

In the past we did care,
But we haven't been there
Since liberty died
Along with our heirs.

So when will we come back to the truth of our name,
"The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave"?
