"AN OPEN WOUND" by JTK.CA

An open wound,
The fear of failure,
Fears a dressing
That would heal.

And this poem is patched
With ideas that don't quite fit
Because I just have to get these thoughts
Out in the open.

Open wounds,
The sword pulled from his side,
The nails pulled out of his hands and feet.
The death of the life-giver
Is all that could save his creation.

But he arose in victory.
We too now have the victory over death
Because of him.
But he still wears the wounds
And will wear them forever,
Just so we'll never forget the cost of his gift to us
And never forget the necessity of our obedience.

The fear of God
Brings the freedom from all other fears.
And ironically,
The fear of God is the path to peace.
