I drove you away with a word.
It was absurd for me
To throw dirt in the face of beauty
And expect a welcome.

I've asked and received forgiveness
From you and from God.
Yet, still the damage is done.
Though I preach that God is love,
I betrayed his trust and yours,
And I robbed the temple of your spirit.
