You did it all
While I did nothing.
Together, we're a perfect team.

You killed with your knives
While I philosophized,
Pronouncing you "sinners" and me "clean."

Your power grew
And you overthrew
The opponent of your murderous cause.

You instilled in me
The fear of you,
And I became a slave to all of your laws.

A stunning statue
Was taken down
From her pedestal and brought to me.

Told to kiss her, I did.
And just as you'd said,
From bronze she fled to humanity.

She held close to me,
Her new master,
Loving me more than I loved her.

I wanted satisfaction.
She was my cure.
I lusted for no one but her.

And we, unaware of the transaction--
The cure became poison
In the middle of our passion.

This love was a diversion.
As you went on killing,
I worshipped an idol you'd made for my distraction.

You did it all
While I did nothing.
Together, we're a perfect team.

You killed with your knives
While I made love to lies,
Forgetting all the evil I had seen.
