"How much is enough?"
Asks the twig to the tree.
How much does it take
To make one free?

A little thing here
And a little thing there
Until there's a pile
That leads nowhere.

"How much is enough?"
Asks the bird to the sky.
But, if she had one worm,
She would not cry.

All these things that I get
To feed my debt.
It's time for a fast.
It's time to cull the debris,
The pile of stuff surrounding me.

David Suzuki asks:
"If we think growth is progress, well no one wants to impede progress, so we fail to ask the important questions like 'What is an economy for?' 'Are we happier with all this stuff?' 'How much is enough?'"
